My name is Karina Bedolla. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in San Diego, CA. For the past ten years I have helped individuals, couples, and families improve their functioning and mental health. I have always felt that being a therapist was my calling and I have had the pleasure of seeing people grow and reach their full potential. Often times, people find themselves in situations with unimaginable loss and extremely difficult life transitions. This is a natural part of the human condition, and I believe that everyone at some point in their life can benefit from therapy from a neutral and supportive person. I provide a safe and friendly environment in a comfortable setting to process and find solutions to life’s struggles. If you are looking for support and would like to move forward in your life, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with you.

My Approach:

I would describe myself as a genuine, compassionate, and straightforward therapist. I provide individual therapy, couple’s therapy, and family therapy. I believe that everyone is capable of growth and feel privileged to be able to guide a person in that journey. I typically borrow from several therapy approaches based on client’s unique needs.

These include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Finding more adaptive ways to think and behave to decrease things such as anxiety, depression, and poor self-esteem.

Intergenerational Therapy: Identifying generational influences on individual and family behavior and learning to change those patterns.

Attachment Theory: Exploring early relationship attachments and how those past relationships are currently influencing adult relationships.

Mindfulness: Learning to observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment and learning to live in the present moment.

I’ve had the privilege of working with the Latino community and am proud to say that I offer all of my services in Spanish.

What to expect:

Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes and length of therapy depends on the client’s unique needs. Therapy can be short term or long term depending on a person’s comfort level and the issues to be addressed.

Payment will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the first session. Sessions are typically $95.00 per hour and I also offer sliding scale options for students and low income families.
